manufactured in CMOS technology; 63.000 transistors on a chip 5.5 mm by 6.3 mm; the V20 is pin-compatible with the 8088 microprocessor but operates up to 40 % faster at the same clock frequency; instruction set (101 instructions) is a superset of the standard 8088 instruction set; it uses a 16-bit internal bus and an 8-bit external bus; complete software compatibility with V25 to V50 microprocessors; available in following packages: DIP, PLCC QFP; 8080 emulation mode; low-power consumption; low-power standby mode; single power supply
