| History | The 6100 is an almost exact reproduction of the PDP-8E minicomputer and has the same instruction set. It was the popularity of the PDP-8 that has given birth to the 6100. It was developed to participate in the continuing sales volume of PDP-8 and to take advantage of the huge library of PDP-8 software. Frequently used in minicomputer type applications. Intersil was bought by Harris Semiconductors. | |||||||||||
