The MC10800
4-Bit ALU slice is an LSI building block for digital processors. Each
part is 4 bits wide and is "sliced" parallel to data flow.
The MC10800 is expandable to larger word lenghts by connecting
circuits in parallel and features three I/O data ports. It is
manufactured using Emitter Coupled Logic (ECL), which creates very
high speed performance. Both lateral and vertical expansion are
allowed. Lateral expansion can be used to increase the bit length in
increments of four bits and vertical expansion can be used to increase
throughput by allowing pipelining. The MC10800 series devices are more
flexible and more powerful than 2900 and 6700 series. They allow more
data fow options, enable more CPU operations and distribute lgic in a
manner better suited to CPU design. |
